THE WANDERERS is the television series that followed and expanded on EL HAZARD. Though the TV series tells essentially the same story as the OAV, it rearranges its predecessor's continuity and offers a new and different take on the world of EL HAZARD. The series begins as Jinnai, who can't stand Makoto, the official Big Man on Campus at his school, hatches a plan to sabotage Makoto's science fair entry. However, the minute changes Jinnai makes have an unexpected result: they open a gateway to another dimension through which Jinnai, his sister Nanami, Makoto, and their teacher are sucked through and deposited into El Hazard, a land of wonder and fantasy.
