The first of the immensely popular GUNDAM animes, MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM begins in the year 0079 of the Universal Century, as the Earth Federation is fighting a losing battle against the rogue Principality of Zeon. Using giant humanoid fighting robots called Mobile Suits, the Principality of Zeon has brought the Federation to its knees. Placing all its hope in developing Mobile Suits of its own, the federation has developed a prototype MS called Gundam. Incredibly, a young and inexperienced pilot Named Armuro Ray is tapped to pilot the Gundam, and soon he finds himself battling Zeon's top pilot, Char Aznable, for not only the survival of the Federation, but for his own life.In these episodes, the Zeon forces have targeted the Gundam and the White Base as the focus of their attacks.
