These two episodes of the popular anime series, based on a manga by Shuici Shigeno, are meant to flesh out the stories of two minor but important characters. The first episode sees plucky partners Mako and Sayuki racing their Nissan on Mt. Usui, which they are forced to defend against the invading Team Emperer. The second concentrates on the inner turmoil of both girls, especially Mako, who has difficulty concentrating on her racing because she is upset about her split with Iketani. With racing sequences that deliver the excitement fans expect from Initial D, the soundtrack features Eurobeat music, some of which is by Michiko Neya and Yumi Kakazu, the voices of Mako and Sayuki.
