Based on Rumiko Takahashi's (RANMA 1/2) popular weekly comic strip, URUSEI YATSURA was one of Japan's most popular television shows during its run from 1981-1986 which produced 195 episodes of the show. It follows the adventures of Ataru, a young man who is charged with saving the Earth by competing with a beautiful alien named Lum in a game of tag. In episodes 29-32, a vampire and his amorous companion come to Ataru and the gang's town and proceed to paint the town red. Later, Lum does some time traveling to reeducate a young boy named Ataru.
