It is year 71 of the Cosmic Era. The Naturals, unmodified humans who comprise the Earth Alliance, are at war with the Coordinators, a race of genetically modified beings. The Naturals have developed new Gundam mobile suits to aid them in the fight. Coordinator Kira Yamamoto has been working on the neutral colony where the Gundam suit are being manufactured. A blend of science fiction, romance, and mystery, the Anime film INTERLUDE is based on a popular Japanese video game. The plot and theme are similar to virtual reality films such as THE MATRIX and EXISTENZ, calling into question the nature of reality and the reliability of one's senses. Mutsuki and her brother live a happy, largely untroubled existence. However, the brother begins to have bizarre, seemingly prophetic dreams and witnesses inexplicable events. At the center of the strange happenings is Aya, whose alluring nature starts to draw Mutsuki's brother away from her.
