Airing in Japan between 1972-1974, the popular and highly influential anime series GATCHAMAN is credited for spearheading worldwide interest in the Japanese style of animation. In America, GATCHAMAN inspired two animated television series (the 1970s-era BATTLE OF THE PLANETS and the late-`80s G-FORCE) as a well an updated 1990s spinoff OVA, but the series itself was never aired in its original
Japanese format. This reissue finally presents the original GATCHAMAN in all its pristine glory: uncut, unedited, newly dubbed, and with 20 episodes never even seen in the U.S. Relive the adventures of Professor Kozaburou Nambu; his Science Ninja Team of Ken, Jo, Jun, Jinpei, and Ryu; and their superweapon aircraft Phoenix as they battle to save the Earth from the world-domination plans of the evil Galactor organization. Blending action, comedy, and romance, Tokyo Underground is an anime series that many have compared to the extremely popular FLAME OF RECCA. Little do the people of Tokyo know that a mysterious, fantastical city lies beneath its streets. Regular guy Rumina meets Ruri and Chelsea, two women fleeing the underground city, and is drawn into the chase and battle to defend them. His contact with Ruri awakens within him the amazing ability to control air, and this strange turn of events leads Rumina to offer the pair his help and learn the secrets of Tokyo Underground. NADIR is the fifth volume of the action-fantasy anime series. In these episodes, Rumina goes about rescuing Ruri, only to have new assassins enter the picture, while Rumina and Chelsea lose track of Gonnosuke, and come across an underground battle.

Based on a manga by Kazuhiro Kumagai, the extremely violent and strangely anachronistic anime series SAMURAI GUN reimagines the pivotal moment when ancient Japan first confronted the changing winds of Western modernity. In the mid-19th century, Japan is still awash in its feudal customs, with lawless and corrupt samurai marauding the nocturnal countryside brutally slaughtering innocent (and mostly female) victims with traditional swords and spears. Enter lone wolf Ichimatsu, a moody young man who decides to battle the evil shogunate with a newly invented weapon: guns. The ensuing gunfight action sequences play out against a dusty backdrop of saloons and brothels for a decidedly spaghetti Western-like feel--albeit one with copious amounts of graphic violence as warm jets of blood splash across the screen and sadism toward women prevails. The 13-part series continues with this second volume of episodes.

At a concert given by a renowned young product of an illustrious music school, three young girls meet and share their passion for music and their idol. Determined to become stars as well, the girls enroll in their idol's university and are brought together when each are put in a special class for those who are especially talented.
