This action-packed anime follows Misaki Suzuhara, a young girl from a small town, as she competes in Angelic Layer, a popular fighting game. The game entails using mind control over robots, called Angels, and there are many opponents who want to make it to the final tournament.
In this installment, romance blossoms as the group take it easy at the beach, as the tournament continues. The intimate atmosphere makes it easy for secrets to slip, including a hidden love and new information about past events. When Hideki moves from Hokkaido to Tokyo to attend college, he quickly finds that big city life is much different than he imagined. The widespread use of Persocoms (personal computers designed to look and act like animals or humans) especially astounds him and makes him feel slightly inferior since Hideki cannot afford one. However, when he finds a discarded Persocom in the trash named Chi, Hideki sets about fixing it up only to find that she can somehow operate without an OS, forcing Hideki to wonder if she is, in fact, real. In these episodes, Hidek and Chi recount some of the highlights from their lives and relationship.
