Kazuma is a genetically mutated human who possesses special powers and abilities. His mutations occurred in the aftermath of an environmental disaster that destroyed much of the country. Although humanity has begun rebuilding their cities, the humans who were genetically affected by the disaster like Kazuma have come to be known as Alters. In these episodes, Kanami and Kimishima find themselves placed under arrest by HOLD after they storm the Lost Ground. The durable mecha genre continues its prominence in the world of anime with the Cartoon Network`s action television series D.I.C.E. The Escaflowne series follows the exploits of a young schoolgirl, Hitomi Konzaki, who is an ordinary enough high school student until a column of light transports Hitomi to a strange world called Gaea.
