In Michael Bay's THE ROCK, gung-ho general Francis Hummel (Ed Harris), armed with deadly chemical rockets and aided by violent cohorts, takes over the island of Alcatraz, holding 81 tourists hostage. Hummel promises to deploy the missiles over San Francisco if Washington doesn't make amends to ignored combat victims to the tune of $100 million. A cadre of Navy SEALs are dispatched to quell the situation, assisted by the mysterious, macho John Mason (Sean Connery), the only man to ever escape from Alcatraz, who must now help the SEALs break back in. Joining them is mild-mannered chemical weapons expert Stanley Goodspeed (Nicolas Cage), who is unaccustomed to such things as guns and military maneuvers. Their high-octane mission is filled with surprises, particularly after Hummel and company quickly annihilate the SEALs--leaving Mason and Goodspeed to save the day all by themselves.DVD Features:Region 1Keep CaseWidescreen - 2.35:1Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1 - English Dolby Surround - FrenchAdditional Release Material: Trailers - Original Theatrical TrailerInteractive Features: Scene Access Interactive Menus

PBS presents a compelling documentary about the bizarre life of legendary jazz singer Jimmy Scott, who made a splash in the 1950s, when he recorded with Charlie Parker, Lionel Hampton, and Ray Charles. He subsequently disappeared for decades, working as a dishwasher and nurse's aide, only to reemerge at the age of 60 to reclaim his rightful position as an unique artist, recording many albums since 1992, and happily performing deep into his seventies. Scott's life was transformed at the age of 12 when it was discovered that he suffered from Kallmann's Syndrome, a hormone deficiency that stopped his development past boyhood, giving him his odd appearance and signature high register as a singer. The film chronicles his fascinating but heart-rending victimization by the jazz music industry of the 1950s and subsequent descent into menial jobs to survive until, invited to sing on a local radio show, he was suddenly discovered all over again. Songs include Why Was I Born? All the Way, Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child, Everybody's Somebody's Fool, Embraceable You, Everybody Needs Somebody, Pennies From Heaven, Time After Time, Memories, Home, The Source, and the especially resonant If You Only Knew.DVD Features:Region (Unknown)Amaray Double SidedFull Frame - 1.33Additional Release Material: Audio Commentary Photo Gallery Short Film,Jimmy Scott: Alone Together A new essay Tracks: 1.
