For more than 30 years, a secret war has exploded at an inter-dimensional portal in Antarctica. Alien troops created the portal in an attempt to invade Earth, but Earth unified and developed a secret elite military force to stop the invasion. The highly advanced fighter Yukikaze contains a sentient computer system that, along with Rei Fukai (who is a member of the Special Air Force and pilot of the Yukikaze), provides the best hope of winning the war. In the second volume of the series, the war is in full swing. When the Banshee-4 destroys many of the planes on its own side, the team of Rei Fukai and Tomahawk John rushes to figure out the situation. This mission becomes more complicated than expected, however, when Rei realizes that looks can be deceiving and that everyone is not what they at first appear to be.

The Japanese animated tale, FUSHIGI YUGI, based on the comic book (manga) by Yuu Watase, follows the adventures of Miaka and Yui, two schoolgirls who become trapped in a kingdom which is written about in a magic book called The Universe of the Four Gods. With danger at every turn, Miaka and Yui must do anything they can to find their way home, but their responsibilities as important kingdom leaders often sidetrack them from returning to their former lives. In these seven episodes, Miaka accepts her role as a priestess of the patron God Suzaku. When she's not tracking down the celestial warriors, Miaka is trying to figure out how to repair her relationship with Yui, who is enraged at Miaka because she believes Miaka abandoned her when she was attacked.
