Based on Rumiko Takahashi's (RANMA 1/2) popular weekly comic strip, URUSEI YATSURA was one of Japan's most popular television shows during its run from 1981-1986 which produced 195 episodes of the show. It follows the adventures of Ataru, a young man who is charged with saving the Earth by competing with a beautiful alien named Lum in a game of tag. In episodes 25-28, Ataru has a run-in with some kappa vampires who take him to the bottom of a lake, causing Lum to think that he has drowned. Later, Ataru must endure another out of body experience when a pair of body-switching earmuffs catch he and Ten with their guard down. Norse mythology forms the basis of this mystery anime series based on Sakura Kinoshita`s hit manga MYTHICAL DETECTIVE LOKI RAGNAROK.
