Many years after a destructive war between man and monster, few people remember that mankind`s saving grace was the phantasmic girl known as the Melody of Oblivion. A young man named Bocca becomes curious about the strange disappearances and sacrifices that no one seems to speak about or take notice of. His interest is further piqued when he meets one of the Melos Warriors, a group of fighters who defended mankind against the monsters during the war. With the knowledge that another war is brewing, Bocca sets out to find the Melody of Oblivion. VOLUME 4: SOLO contains several more episodes of the anime fantasy. In these episodes, Bocca continue to look for Hurofune and the Melody of Oblivion, and finds a boy named Solo in the process. Enraged when he finds out that Solo is one of the unlucky children forced to relive his death over and over, Bocca prepares to fight Horu in order to save the boy. In addition, Bocca and Sayoka rejoin the warriors of Melos, but an unwelcome visit dampens their spirits.
