Comic book artist Jhonen Vasquez's outré sci-fi spoof, which ran on Nicktoons at Night from March 2001 to December 2002, remains the object of a vociferous cult following. Pressure from the fans compelled Nickelodeon to resume production of <I>Invader Zim twice before the show was cancelled permanently. The title character is a zealous, none-too-bright agent from the Irken Empire posing a human boy. Zim imagines he's gathering vital information for the imminent conquest of Earth; the Irken leaders actually sent him here to get rid of him. With the rather spotty assistance of Gir, his robot sidekick disguised as a dog, Zim alternately sneers at humanity and gets himself into trouble. The only person who recognizes Zim as an alien is his UFO-obsessed classmate, Dib.

The two-disc set is loaded with extras that will delight fans of the show, including commentaries by Vasquez and several of the story and voice artists, a second "commentary" of pigs grunting, subtitles in Irken, and the original pilot for the series. The uninitiated may find Invader Zim suggests a cross between Dexter's Laboratory and <I>Jimmy Neutron re-imagined by Tim Burton. The bizarre designs, over-the-top vocal performances, and bodily function jokes are not for the faint-hearted, but they're not supposed to be. Ryomou's visit to the cemetery turns into an inevitable fight, and a new face from Seito arrives at a critical point to change the stakes and derail Ryomou's hidden agenda. Meanwhile, Kan'u searches for the Crouching Dragon, with Ryuubi and Chouhi concerned and close behind her. Their concern is justified, as Kan'u is forced to surrender to Kyoshou soon afterwards. This brings an unexpected rematch with Sonsaku, who shows up seeking justice from Sousou for Kakouen's Nanyou rampage. Their two dragons collide, and only one is left standing.

Balsa and the thers must somehow survive until dawn against a relentless tide of supernatural attackers!

Ogiue finally brings her own work to comic fest, and that means bearing her fantasies for all the world to see. To keep her from a total breakdown she has support from Sasahara, Ohno, and two new faces: the American Otaku! Of course, the only Japanese phrases they know are word-for-word quotes from Auska Langley Sohryu, but they are fangirls so they're at least fluent in the universal language of Yaoi!

The pinwheel of fate turns, as Rin rescues a boy who turns out to be the son of Kawakami. Kawakami was the man who raped her mother, as she was forced to listen from only a few feet away. A lot has happened to Kawakami, and now he is a family man. Rin will either wear the signature face-point of Kawakami's victims, or kill him and doom his son to grow up just like she did: living only for vengeance against the man who killed his father. For Rin that man is Antotsu, but this youthful leader of the Ittou-Ryuu has no desire to strike down his would-be assassin. When he and Rin finally face each other, he tests her resolve by explaining what really happened between him and her father in the past.
